Order Payment

Full payment must be completed before goods are manufactured and / or shipped. Payment can be made via PayPal or via a credit or debit card (these payments are processed by PaymentSense). We now accept payment by bank transfer (faster payment or BACS method) for UK customers.

Order Acceptance

Within 48 hours of placing your order, we will email confirming details of your order have been passed to manufacturing (for bespoke made-to-order items) or are in preparation for dispatch (off the shelf items). This email is the formation of the contract between us and the customer and will determine the point of order acceptance. The acceptance will be considered complete and to have been effectively communicated to the customer, whether or not the email is received. On all occasions, payment will be taken before the point this email confirmation is sent. In the event that we have to cancel your order, your payment will be refunded immediately.

Dispatch Timescales

Orders are generally dispatched within 12 to 15 days after receipt of payment, however delivery timescales cannot be guaranteed (mainly due to seasonal demand).

Money Back Guarantee - "Bespoke" Bats

Under Consumer Contracts Regulations law prevailing in most countries, goods manufactured to personalised and custom requirements are exempt and cannot normally be returned for refund. However, MakeMyCricketBat are so confident that you will love the "bespoke" bat service, that all made-to-order bats purchased from the makemycricketbat.com "bespoke" category may be returned within 14 days following receipt of the item(s), provided that they are returned in the original packaging, and with all components of the order in the same unused condition. Any damage to the bat, or alteration outside of options offered on the makemycricketbat.com website, that would curtail subsequent re-sale potential will invalidate this exceptional return arrangement.

The customer will be responsible for the return postage costs except in the case of faulty items. Your statutory rights are not affected. Also see `Standard Guarantee` below.

Right to cancel - all bespoke and made-to-order items (grips and bats)

Many items on this website are bespoke, made-to-order items and once in production, the right to cancel does not apply. This is due to:

  • loss of value through irreversible alteration to raw materials (willow, rubber etc)
  • no immediate or foreseeable retail value in goods that have been made to a specific requirement

However, we offer limited protection above and beyond legal requirements as so:

  • cricketbatgrips.co.uk - cancellation available only if production has not started
  • seam-up.co.uk - cancellation available only if production has not started

In all cases above, please contact us as soon as possible if cancellation is required. We will do our best to accommodate if limited productiion has taken place whereby raw materials can be re-used without loss of value. Contact via either:

Right to cancel - stocked items

You have the right to cancel any purchase (with the exception of personalised alteration to a stocked goods item, which is exempt) within 14 days without giving any reason. This applies to stocked items which encompasses off the "shelf" bats and in addition, our "bespoke" bat service.

The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods.

To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement e.g. a letter sent by post (address as below) or e-mail to:

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

Effects of cancellation - stocked items

If you cancel your purchase, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us or when only part of an order is returned, including any promotional item).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than –

(a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or

(b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods, or

(c) if there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods to getpaddedup.co.uk, 11 Courtland Rd, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 8ND, UK, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.

You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods."

Returns/Exchanges - bespoke and made-to-order items

Many items on this website are bespoke, made-to-order items and once contracted, the right to return does not apply. However, we offer limited protection above and beyond legal requirements as so:

  • seam-up.co.uk - returns available for 60 balls or fewer, red balls only
  • makemycricketbat.co.uk "cleft" range - once production has started, no returns are available as this is a single, unique cleft service
  • makemycricketbat.co.uk "bespoke" range - full money back guarantee on all bats under the "bespoke" range
  • makemycricketbat.co.uk "shelf" range - full money back guarantee on all bats under the off the "shelf" range
  • makemycricketbat.co.uk "clone" service - once production has started, no returns are available on this cloning service range
  • makemycricketbat.co.uk "repair" service - once repair has started, no returns are available on this repair service

Returns/Exchanges - stocked items

Distance Selling Regulations (DSR) set by the "The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013" apply to all goods purchased from us. Goods may be returned within 14 days following receipt of the item(s), provided that they are returned in the original packaging, in the same condition and notification of your intent to return has been made in writing (email to the following is accepted):

In line with "The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013", personalised, customised or any other product where an adjustment has been made at the customers request (that prohibits re-sale to another customer) and all bepoke and / or made-to-order items (except "bespoke" bats range) are excluded and cannot be returned.

In the event that your goods are not as you expect, please email us with details of the return or exchange you require, within 14 days of receipt. Simply send the item(s) to the returns address as per your packing slip. If exchanging, there is a charge for the re-sending of the exchange item. This cost will be advised once the exchange items has been confirmed as in stock and available.

The customer will be responsible for the return postage costs (except in the case of faulty items) and for the postage costs of dispatching any goods required in exchange.

Any goods returned outside of the requirements of the consumer contract regulations may be accepted if resellable, and a refund of goods cost less a 5% (minumum £5) restocking fee will be made. Original shipping cost is not refunded.

Standard Guarantee - Bats

Our `Money Back Guarantee` as detailed above, is concerned only with the delivery of "bespoke" bats to the specification given at time of purchase. It applies on receipt and up to 14 days, without use of the bat. Once used, the bat is subject to the wear and tear of a natural product as per any other cricket bat. Willow, cane and other products within the bat will naturally deteriorate with use and over time. Even the very best quality materials and manufacture we use cannot eliminate the effects of incorrect storage, yorker damage, use of sub-standard balls, crease tapping, general wear and tear etc. Added to modern requirement in bat shapes, it is impossible to predict or guarantee the lifetime of any bat. Your bat will be guaranteed for 6 months following date of delivery but this guarantee will NOT include any of the below:

  • incorrect storage
  • yorker damage
  • damage caused by the use of poor quality and sub-standard balls
  • mistimed shots
  • crease tapping
  • general wear and tear / ageing

If a condition does arise whereby you wish to invoke this guarantee, the bat must not be used in any way that may compound the issue nor must an attempt be made to resolve the issue other than by a professional skilled person (for which a receipt of proof may be required). Failure to comply will invalidate the guarantee. Customers are stronly advised to view our page on `Bat Care and Maintenance`.

Samples (Grips)

We offer samples so you can view and compare the grip textures we offer.  We can send up to 5 samples (as selected on the order page).  If a quantity amounting to greater than 5 grips is entered, only one of each of the textures selected will be dispatched.  Samples are not full grips for actual use.

Picking Errors

We accept full responsibility for the wrong goods in the event of a picking or manufacturing error; please follow the returns process and we will correct at speed, including refund of your return postage costs.

Manufacturing Timescales

Made-to-order cricket bat grips will normally be dispatched in 12 to 15 days from order acceptance. This may be a slightly longer at peak times (pre and early UK season, March to June).
